My work

Ran at Stratford Circus Arts Centre April 2019.

Supported by Arts Council England, Lake House Charitable Trust and Stratford Circus Arts Centre.

Partner: Fight For Peace

“I thought about giving up. But then I remembered who was watching.”

Single mum Lee is a fighter. She’s used to fighting the world, alone. No one’s in her corner, she’s down but not out - yet. Then she steps into Tommy’s Gym and everything changes: plunged into the world of boxing, Lee’s fight really begins.

It wasn't until 1996 that female boxers in Britain were allowed to compete by the Amateur Boxing Association of England.

Inspired by these pioneering British female boxers that fought for their right to fight, FIGHTER is a raucously visceral show that packs a punch.

FIGHTER partnered with Fight For Peace, a charity that uses boxing to support young people living in communities at risk of violence.

TEMPORARY

TEMPORARY was presented as a work in progress at Camden People’s Theatre in January 2018. As a result of this showing, Brian Logan, Artistic Director of CPT, selected the show as just one of two London shows to feature in a new feminist theatre festival, The Party Somewhere Else, at Nottingham Playhouse. After this, the show was a secondary headliner at CPT’s Common People Festival of Working Class Theatre in April, consistently mentioned as a highlight in press and media and recommended by This Week London’s Three to See. TEMPORARY partnered with The Magpie Project to support mums in Newham in inadequate temporary accommodation.
